Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria — specific venue to be announced
The Dev-A-Thon runs for 48 continuous hours on October 21–22, 2026 at a premium venue in Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria. The specific venue will be announced closer to the event date.
Yes — participation in the TechTrinity Africa Dev-A-Thon is completely free. We believe that the best African talent should never be excluded by a registration fee. Apply on our Register page and we will review your application.
The Dev-A-Thon is open to anyone aged 18+ who is based in or from Africa (including the diaspora). We welcome software developers, data scientists, product designers, product managers, and domain experts. At least one technical team member (developer or data scientist) is required per team.
Both are welcome. You can apply as a solo Domain Expert (with a problem to solve) or as a pre-formed team of 2–5 members. Solo applicants who are builders (developers, designers, data scientists) will be matched into teams at the kick-off session based on skills and challenge track preferences.
The Startup Gate is a guaranteed outcome for every team that completes the Dev-A-Thon with a qualifying MVP. It gives your team direct exposure to investors, corporate partners, and the full TechTrinity Africa audience — and is your first step from prototype to funded startup.
This is not a competition — all teams that deliver a qualifying MVP receive the full benefit package: a Startup Gate slot, investor introduction letters, cloud and infrastructure credits from integration partners, accelerator programme access, 90-day mentor check-ins, media coverage in Cyberspace Magazine, and lifetime membership of the TechTrinity alumni network.
Email partnerships@techtrinity.africa or visit our Partnership Opportunities page. We welcome technology partners (telcos, payment gateways, banks, cloud providers, AI companies) and strategic partners (academic institutions, government agencies, development partners).
We are actively recruiting mentors, domain experts, pitch coaches, and VC judges. Visit our Mentors & Judges page and complete the mentor application form, or email reachout@techtrinity.africa with your area of expertise.
The Dev-A-Thon features six challenge tracks: FinTech & Financial Inclusion, AgriTech & Food Security, HealthTech & Digital Health, EdTech & Skills Development, GovTech & Civic Innovation, and ClimateTech & Clean Energy. Specific challenge statements per track are revealed at the kick-off session.
